Sunday

Noah in Molly's bed

He likes eating crackers in the dog bed

Monday

Nobody at the airport

Because it is too early.

Sunday

We got in

Watching a match on court seven. The Frenchman Montcort just won. The
locals loved it.

Last night on the Champs Elysees

Walked around last night after dinner and then headed back to the
hotel. We are up earlier than usual today and are going over to the
French Open, but it will be dificult to find tickets. The expectation
is that we won't be able to get them, but you never know.

Saturday

Lunch on Ile Saint-Louis

Picked up a Peugout car model for Noah. We're starting a little
collection for him. It's a little overcast and raining today, but we
still went up to the second level of the Eifel Tower. After five plus
trips we finally went up. The trick is to buy your tickets from the
hotel and not wait in the ticket line. Now we are sitting in a small
restaurant on Ile Saint-Louis, an island on the river here that is
just behind Notre Dame. Very small place with only six tables that
also specializes in crepes.

Friday

Moulin Rouge

Had a night out on the town at the Moulin Rouge for dinner and a
show. It is a dificult show to describe, dance numbers, a pool with
snakes and ponies.

Cafe time

The Louvre

Strolling through Paris

We're here

Went to a nice Brasserie near the Paris Opera and just walked around
for a little while. Today we're going to take a walk down to the
river and over to Notre Dame and tonight we are set for dinner and a
show at the Moulan Rouge.

Thursday

At the beach

We had to go to the airport to find a beach in Malta

Goofing around

Mikenzie made a new friend at the airport today. He's going to visit
us next time he's in Charlotte.

Leaving Malta

Our last day here in Malta. We are going to head to the airport in a
few minutes. We connect in Frankfurt and will be in Paris at our
hotel by this evening. We really enjoyed Malta. At first we were not
sure how we would pass the five days, but as usual the time flies by.
Met some very nice and interesting people here, we're looking to
hearing from them in the future.

Oh and the boat photo. We were at the supermarket looking for some
cheese and crackers and in comes the chef from the yacht Samax who
proceeds to take all the cheese. He recommends one to us, but realizes
he has taken all of it. He ends up giving us one from his six carts.
He is feeding a crew of 15. We looked it up and the boat use to be
owned by the Sultan of Brunei, is 170 feet long and was last listed
for sale in 2001 for $37.5 M. Guess the Sultan was looking for
something with a bit more room.

Tuesday

Touring Malta

Had a great day. We were able to see the entire island. There are
actually seven islands which comprise the country, but only two
primaries where the population lives. Our guide was Duncan, a local
Maltese that takes people on private tours a little off the beaten
track. We saw a number of scenic overlooks (cliffs without railings),
a fishing village in the photo, farm country and the Three Cities.
The cities are actually three rocky pennisulas that reach out into the
bay and each is considered a small city. Across the bay is a fourth
city Valletta which is the capital.

Monday

Waiting on the bus

Heading back to our hotel after visiting Mdina, an old city/castle
with a big church in the center of the town. We had a nice lunch there
overlooking Malta and the sea.

Sunday

First night in Malta

A Sicilian restaurant was recommended by the concierge (think Italian)
and it was great. We actually went to dinner at nine which we haven't
done for a long time ( thank you grandparents). The mussles marinara
and Mediteranian sea bass were fantastic. We were planning on taking a
day trip over to Sicily, but it would be a very long day so we decided
to just go back to the restaurant for lunch later in the week. After
dinner we went over to one of the islands casinos where Mikenzie won
us our dinner back. The plan for Sunday is to sleep in and spend the
day by the pool.

Saturday

Made it to Malta

We are at the hotel. Kind of tired from the trip, too many layovers.
We are going to take showers and get some lunch. Tomorrow we will
start exploring. We would love to do an excursion, but we're afraid of
the boat ride (we have history).

In Frankfurt

We got here about an you ago and have three more hours before our next
flight. The flight over wasn't bad, but the seats on the Luftansa
flight were really tight, really no more room than on a typical
domestic flight. Will try to update before we get on the plane or once
we get to Malta.

Friday

Leaving Boston by water taxi

Lunch in Boston

Turned out to be a great day. We'll head back to the airport in the
next hour.

Too cold for a swim

Mom and Dad filled it earlier in the day the following week and I got
my first swim.

Sunday

Oh the sun!

Noah doesn’t like the sun…
